Staycation

Getting tired of your friends and relatives bragging about the vacations they have coming up? If you are trying to be budget conscious this summer, plan a staycation that can rival any luxurious trip. Whether you are a homebody by nature, or want to learn the nuances of your beloved home town, take the opportunity to utilize the home and amenities you already have nearby. You don’t have to deal with the stress of travel, you will be relaxed and rejuvenated, and you know exactly what to expect.
Where to stay- If you are planning to stay home, make sure to prep your home in advance so that it is clean, organized, and feels like a special retreat. If you want to try something new, check out what is available on AirBnB, any B &B’s nearby, or that new swanky hotel. This is a fun way to get a new perspective of the town you already know.

What to do- Spend time being a tourist. Check your local Travel Bureau for their top suggestions, and take the time to do things you may have been neglecting. Make an itinerary as if you were traveling, so that your day seems fulfilled and exciting. If you want to skip the sightseeing, schedule a day at your favorite resort or spa. Take the time to enjoy amenities that you usually don’t take advantage of. Finally, if you are craving lazy days, plan a movie marathon complete with snacks, popcorn, candy, and lots of cozy blankets.
